Amps Air Frequently Asked Questions

Q: I’ve already paired Amps Air to my phone but now it’s not repairing in stereo mode. It’s only showing me “Amps Mono”. How do I get it to pair in stereo again?

A: The most common reason for this is even though you removed both buds, only one bud has automatically powered on. To get stereo sound, you want both of them to turn on at the same time.

The easiest way is to put both buds back in the case. Make sure each bud has a red light while in the case to indicate they both auto turned off.

Wait a few seconds then remove both buds again. They’ll automatically turn on (indicated by 3 white flashing lights) and are paired to each other when both buds show a white light at the same time.

Q: How do I get the best possible sound from Amps Air?

A: The key to great sound is to getting a really good seal in your ear so you can hear all the bass, clarity & vocals from your favorite music. To get a proper seal, you need to find the right ear tip. Since everyone’s ear is different, Amps Air comes with 4 different ear tip sizes.

AmpsAir EarTipSizes

Start with the largest ear tip size that will fit in your ear and work your way down.

You’ll know when you have a good seal when the ambient noise around you is hard to hear and Amps Air feel secure in your ear.

Q: How do I know how much power the charging case has?

A: The charging case has a total of 4 indicator lights on the front of the case. Simply tap the case and you’ll see 1, 2, 3 or 4 lights telling you how charged up the case it.

When it gets down to 1 you’ll want to recharge the case to make sure you’re never caught without your music.

Q: How do I activate Siri or Google Assist?

A: Double press the multi-function button on either bud to bring up Siri/Google Assist. Once you hear the Siri/Google prompt on your device, go ahead and let them what you need them to do like turn the volume up, skip the song or start a call.

  1. Sol republic Amps Air is the best so far. I still like them but recently somehow I’m having trouble syncing both earphones. I’ve tried everything from the manual and online suggestions but somehow no good results. Both earphones have no syncing separately (Amps Mono) but somehow when connected to Amps air connection either the left or right side has sound the other will not connect.

  2. The amps I bought don’t work at all out of the box. The battery pack is fully charged but for some reason when the pods are in the charging case there are no lights to indicate charging or them turning on. Taking them out of the charging dock does nothing aswell.

My question is: is there anything I can do to fix that on my own or will I just have to get them replaced?

  3. I used the buds for about 6 months and recently I lost totally the sync of the left and right. The Right ear got independent of the Left ear. One connect as the Amp Stereo and the other as Amp Mono. No matter how many times I put in the case and try again, the result is the same. How I can reset to then get both pared again?

    1. Remove Amps Mono from your phone then try again. If it still doesn’t work, you try again but this time double-click the buttons on the buds to get the beeping sound on both; that means they are synching with each other. After a few secs, they will pair to the phone. I only have the earbuds paired in stereo as having both pairings on one device seems to confuse them and it becomes a timing issue as to who connected to what first.

  4. After all the advices given, still both buds doesn’t paired to each other and neither to the device. Trying for hours still doesn’t worked. Even Amps Air shown connected only one bud works.

  5. I continuously double tapped them with bluetooth on (android phone) just to self fix them after other solutions letting me down…not saying it will necessarily work for yous but it did for me. It kept beeping one ear at a time but it came right after i double tapped the buds enough times. I knew it synced once the buds stopped beeping and just made that noise it makes when they come on (similar to the shhhh) noise if yous get that.

  7. I’ve got my earbuds paired in “air” mode. (Stereo). But, my right earbud is VERY quiet while the left one blasts. Again, I have no problem pairing them, but one bud is almost useless.

  8. I hate…. HATE these buds.
They never pair together! I’ve done all the things that I should. All I can. Sometimes the left one pairs, sometimes the right one. Sometimes it switches after its been paired, but never together. Waste of money and the store refuses to take them back because they’ve been in my ear.
    Worst purchase ever

Remove all previous pairings from your device (phone or tablet etc.)
Turn the Bluetooth off on the device you are wanting to pair (also make sure all other Bluetooth is off in the area you are trying to pair).
Take the earbuds out of the case.
Press and hold the multi-function (SOL) button for 3 seconds on both earbuds to turn them off.
Quick press multi-function (SOL) button once on each earbud to turn them on. Wait one full minute before proceeding to the next step.
Quick press multi-function (SOL) button twice to put earbuds in pairing mode. Wait one full minute before proceeding to the next step.
Turn on Bluetooth on the device you want to connect to.
Select Amps Air in available devices. The other pairing mode will read Amps Mono.

  13. Anyone find a way to tether your earbuds together in case one falls out it can’t get away too quickly and fall into a place where you can’t get it back. Lost one twice and it bounced right off the bridge into the river!

  15. I’m having the same issue, paired them to my phone, but i can’t get them to play in stereo mode. Only one ear bud works at a time. Tried everything. Getting ready to return this product. Shouldn’t have to be this frustrating to get something this expensive to work. Feel like I’ve been robbed of my money with this issue.

I tried all the tips given and still no success.

      1. Finally just got mine fixed. I can’t really say how other than just pushing the buttons on the earpieces until the lights go solid white. That means they are paired together. Good luck with yours.
